  Day 1 

Arrival in Carlsbad, NM.

 

Day 2

Carlsbad Caverns - Salinas Pueblo Mission

The group will have the morning to visit the other-worldly Carlsbad Caverns, one of the largest natural underground cavern systems in the world. Then the group will stop at the ruins of the Salinas Pueblo Mission, where Sr. Maria de Jesus de Agreda (Lady in Blue) miraculously appeared to the native Jumanos tribe before any Spanish settlers arrived while never leaving her convent in Spain

Day 3

Old Town Albuquerque - San Miguel Chapel

The day will begin at San Felipe Neri Church where some of the very first families from Spain arrived with Franciscan priests to spread the Gospel. The group will be able to visit the beautiful Old Town Albuquerque before moving on to San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe, the oldest church in the continental US built in 1610.

 

Day 4

Cathedral Basilica of St Francis - Loretto Chapel - Santuario Guadalupe - Santuario Chimayo

The day will get started with the celebration of the Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis. Then the group will visit Loretto Chapel, where a staircase was built in 1873 for the nuns who had prayed the novena to St Joseph. Upon completion of the Novena, an unnamed man appeared, built the spiral staircase with a carpenter's square and wooden pegs and left without payment. Until today no one knows how the spiral staircase stays upright with no center pole or structural support or how the lumber arrived as it is not native to the Southwestern US. We will then move on to one of the first Marian sanctuaries in the US: Santuario Guadalupe before moving on to the Santuario Chimayo: an old mission church known as "The Lourdes of the Americas" since so many miraculous healings have been reported after visiting this chapel.

Day 5

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railway - Bandelier National Monument

The group will have the unique opportunity to ride aboard a 19th century steam train, with breathtaking views of canyons, aspen forests and cascades. This is a National Landmark that moves! Then the group will visit the picturesque Bandelier National Monument where we will see ancient petroglyphs and cave dwellings of the Pueblo Tribe.

Day 6

Drive from Santa Fe to Dallas
